Rose Cook, one of seven recipients of a 2026 Virginia Tech Women’s Club Scholarship
Since 2010, VTWC has awarded 113 scholarships totaling more than $295,000 to deserving women at Virginia Tech.
Recipients pursue careers in law, veterinary medicine, engineering, and more.
In 2026, seven rising junior and senior women received $6,000 each.
In 2026, the Community Foundation of the New River Valley (CFNRV) awarded $212,098 in scholarships to 106 students. VTWC’s award represents 20% of the CFNRV’s scholarship funds awarded.
VTWC’s Ways and Means Committee promotes donations to CFNRV in support of the scholarship fund including the 13th Annual Give Local NRV giving day, June 24-25, 2026.

The committee holds fundraisers throughout the year including a fashion show, auctions, and raffles.
The Community Foundation of the New River Valley oversees the scholarship selection policies, procedures, and criteria. The scholarship selection process is in keeping with the requirements of H. R. 4, the Pension Protection Act of 2006, and as provided by the Foundation's Scholarship Fund Policy.
The Scholarship Committee coordinates both the marketing of the scholarships and the selection and presentation of the awards.
