Book Club

Meets the 3rd Wednesday at Northside Presbyterian Church at 2 PM

After the group collaboratively selects a year's worth of thought-provoking titles, members take turns leading in-depth discussions. Each meeting is dedicated to using open dialogue to explore ideas, share perspectives, and deepen understanding of the selected book together. Contact Chairs

Bunco

Come join the FUN on the Bunco is a dice game that is easy to learn and relies completely on luck!  If you are looking for a lively, relaxed group that likes to socialize over shared food, drink, and games, then come join us. And you might go home the Big Winner if you contribute to the "Kitty."

Locations will vary based on registration numbers and activities. Dine Around

Meets First Saturday of each month at 6:00 PM September through May

Couples and singles visit local and surrounding area restaurants each month. Members of the group take turns arranging the dinners with the restaurants and send out email notices as to where we are going each month. Participants respond the chair’s email if they plan to attend. This is a fun and friendly way to explore new restaurants and connect with members.   Contact Chairs

Needle Arts

Paper Crafts

CHAIR: MELISSA MATUSEVICH

Meets at Church on Main at 1:00-3:00 PM

Once each month on Thursdays

Enjoy the satisfaction of creating cards and more under the direction of a skilled paper crafter. At each session, participants will create three projects.

Participants must register in advance and pay a $10 materials fee.

Women and Wine

Meets 2nd Wednesdays 5:00 PM -7:00 PM.

Members learn from Randall, our wine guru at Vintage Cellar, how to taste and enjoy delicious wine pours. while enjoying light refreshments, great conversation, and a wonderful evening with a fantastic group of friends. The fee includes a wine flight, the charcuterie platter prepared by VC chef Mae, and the tip. Contact Chairs

Yoga

CHAIR: UMA SHASTRI

Meets online for chair yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45 PM

This welcoming class is designed for all experience levels whether you are brand new to yoga or looking for a gentle supportive way to stretch and move. New participants can try their first class for free, making it easy to see if it's the right fit.  Eight-class passes are available for $80, with 20% of the proceeds going to the VTWC Scholarship Fund. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Canoeing and Whitewater

CHAIRS: VALERIE DYMOND, GOLDIE TERRELL

First Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Blacksburg Christian Fellowship

The group spends the day on the river starting the first Wednesday in April and running through to the last Wednesday in October. We canoe during most weather and whitewater experience is preferred. Canoes and equipment are not required. A nominal fee is collected each week to defray the cost of gas for the drivers. In February, the group goes south for a five-day trip on the beautiful rivers of FL, GA, and SC. Space is limited. Gardening

CHAIR: CAROL TRUTT

We will be visiting local gardens such as the Hahn, Blacksburg Community Gardens, Price House, Christiansburg Museum, Happy Hollow Gardens Park, Mill Mountain Wildflower Garden. Trips to local gardening centers, such as Third Day Nursery, Crow's Nest, Poor Boy's Produce will take place in the spring. Trips will also include lunch at nearby restaurants. Contact Chair
