If you haven’t taken a day trip with VTWC, you should. You will discover how much fun traveling with friends, not having to worry about driving, and laughing at the incredible stories that get shared along the highways and byways. You will get to know each other and discover how diverse, talented, and fun VTWC women are.

Don’t blame us if you get addicted and want to sign up for every trip. That’s what happens when you become A Day Tripper.

TRIP ONE: OCTOBER 9 TEABERRY ALPACA FARM & MOUNTAIN LAKE

The first trip of the year will be to the Teaberry Alpaca Farm and Mountain Lake. What a wonderful day to enjoy the changing leaves of Jefferson National Forest! Discovering the personalities of these social creatures should also lead to interesting discussions on the ride home. Register today!

Carpool with our group for a trip up to Teaberry Alpaca Farm. The owners describe themselves as “a small family-run alpaca farm located in Catawba, Virginia, nestled in the beautiful Jefferson National Forest, close to many great hiking trails.”

Learn about the adorable alpacas during a guided tour from the owner.

Then enjoy lunch at the beautiful, historic Mountain Lake Lodge nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We will gather at Church on Main to carpool to the farm and lodge. Depart at 9:00 AM. Lunch at 11:30. Return at 2:00.

TRIP TWO: WEDNESDAY, NOV 5 VIRGINIA MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS

The vineyard will be in its fall cycle, and we will get to enjoy the wildflowers and autumn colors. We will go to the apple orchard and have an opportunity to bring home lots of apples. Who can resist the free chocolate truffles? Register today by contacting Joy at the Rec Center.

Depart the Blacksburg Community Center at 10 AM. We will enjoy lunch at Daleville Town Center (at your own cost) followed by the wine at Virginia Mountain Vineyards a popular destination winery.

Afterwards, we'll make a stop at the "famous" Ikenberry Orchards. We are expected to return is by 6 PM.

Cost is $38R/$48NR. Fee includes transportation, wine tasting and a box of chocolate truffles.

TRIP THREE: DECEMBER 11 TEA AT THE PALISADES

This is one of our most popular events, and we look forward to being at The Palisades each holiday season. Warm your holiday spirit and enjoy the lovely high tea with your favorite friends.

Join us for our annual Holiday Tea at the Palisades. It has become our tradition!

Located in the former Pyne's General Store, The Palisades Restaurant offers contemporary cuisine in a unique countryside setting and warm hospitality.

They will present a high tea for us including savory and sweet treats and, of course, tea.
